Telegraphs Video Shoot - Behind the Scenes with Emily Barnett

One blustery dull January day, I had the pleasure to accompany up-and-coming Brighton band Telegraphs on their video shoot for new single ‘I Don’t Navigate By You’. Shot at an exhausting double speed and in 4 different locations, each shot was meticulously set up to so that each scene zooms cleverly in and out of a picture frame.

As well as documenting the many location changes and general goings’ on, I had the special task of dressing bassist Hattie Williams. After picking out some signature Dollydagger dresses, Hattie ended up with a mixture of looks; sometimes going for all-out glamour with our 50’s Satin Sweetheart Swing dress, or opting for a more ‘rock’ look by pairing a tight pin-up dress with converse and ‘bed hair’.

Overall, the day transpired to be a very interesting insight into how video directors, band members and lighting technicians work to make rock bands look super cool for our enjoyment (with the help of some Dollydagger dresses too of course!).
